* The Find My network is an encrypted, anonymous network of hundreds of millions of Apple devices that can help you locate your device. Then select Location Services, select the Enable Location Services checkbox, and make sure that the checkbox next to Find My is selected.
In earlier versions of macOS: Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy, then click the Privacy tab and, if the padlock in the lower left is locked, click it and enter the name and password of the administrator. The location is sent from the friends device only when you request to see it. They don't get any notification or there isn't any log of lookup incidents made available to them. 
Next to System Services, click Details and make sure Location Services is turned on for Find My. When sharing location with friends using Find My Friends, the other person doesn’t know how many times their friends have looked them up.
In macOS Ventura: Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. If you want to be able to find your lost device on a map, make sure that Location Services is turned on: To make sure that you can find your Mac if it's ever lost or stolen, check that Find My Mac is On and Find My network is On.* In earlier versions of macOS, click Options to check that both are turned on. From here go to Find My and make sure Share My Location is turned on. Scroll down, click Find My, then click Turn On. Under Apps Using iCloud, click Show All. In earlier versions of macOS, click Apple ID, then click iCloud. In earlier versions of macOS, choose Apple menu > System Preferences. Choose Apple menu > System Settings. Still, if you aren't comfortable sharing your location with other people - whether you have security and privacy concerns or just don't want to - you can keep Find My iPhone on and disable Find My Friends. Turn Location Sharing on, and then, under Pinpoint Location, click. In previous iOS releases, the features were located in two separate apps, so iOS 14 does make it more convenient to switch between the two. To invite someone to see your location, open the Google+ app and go to Menu > Locations > Location settings > Location Sharing. The Find My iPhone app lets you track the last known location of your phone, iPad, and laptop, while Find My Friends allows you to share your location with other people and see where they are if they choose to share with you. If you don't want to share your location with your friends, you can still turn off Find My Friends in iOS 14 and keep Find My iPhone turned on. One of those adjustments: Find My iPhone and Find My Friends have been combined into one app called "Find My." This is an update that is available in iOS 14 as well. 
When Apple released iOS 13 in September 2019, it brought a lot of big changes to the iPhone - and some smaller, subtler ones that you may not notice at first glance.
